We design and measure all the details to your requirements and advise on specifics for your individual need. We use the finest full grain vegetable tanned Italian leather to craft an apron made unique to you.

Full grain leather refers to hides that have not been sanded or buffed (unlike top grain leather) to remove natural marks or imperfections on the surface of the hide. This leaves the grain intact with its own fibre strength, durability and attractive appearance. It is the best leather available.

All of the metalware on the apron comes from a English foundry that has been producing high quality buckles since 1832 and holds a Royal Warrant of Appointment.

Additionally to give it that added touch of ownership we offer a complimentary embossing service, where we can add your name or initials free of charge.

The leather is carefully selected from the best tanneries, it is handcut and then skived to enable beautifully turned stitched edges to add strength and stop the leather from curling. The cross-back straps are precisely edged and softened to give the best most comfortable fit and the rear belt has eyelet holes for extra strength and durability, all attached using nickel plated brass buckles made to the highest standard.

Finally the embossed Risdon & Risdon logo is added, so that in years to come it will prove its authenticity of British handmade craftsmanship.

Due to every leather hide being different, each apron will have natural characteristics that are unique to your handcrafted apron.

The apron will feel a little stiff at first, allow some time for the leather to wear and soften and it will beautifully mould to your shape - it should then last you a lifetime!

Our British leather apron is the new standard for expert craftsmanship. 

The main body of the apron is cut from a single hide from master British tanners at C. F. Stead & Co who have been the leaders in suede manufacturing and pioneering tanning innovations for the last 150 years.

This leather is extremely hard wearing and resistant to stains and can be cleaned care free.

Made in reverse this leather is entirely unique in its tanning and its characteristics, it has rugged and sleek matt finish on the outside and a soft velvety nap on the inside.

It has a medium handle which allows it to quickly form to your movements.

The highly adjustable crossback straps are designed for maximum comfort and weight distribution as well as structural longevity.

These straps are made using the uniquely traditional Oak Bark bridle leather from the prestigious British tannery J. & F.J. Baker & Co who have been leading the bridle leather industry since it also began 150 years ago and remain as the sole makers of Oak Bark tanned bridle leather famed for its quality feel and its strength and stability. 

Finally we have applied our metalware from a British foundry with its Royal Warrant.

We have enhanced the design of this apron by using panels all cut from a single hide and reinforcing them, we do not hold back on the structural details applying a hem to the apron for maximum strength and lasting structural integrity.
